Welcome

Lucia & Fons offer you bed and breakfast accomodation in their recently renovated 18th century farmhouse. The former estate farm is part of the Lopem Chateau estate but is only a stone’s throw from the beautiful city of Bruges.

Guest rooms

There is a choice of two rooms:

A large room with one double bed, one single bed and sitting area  and the ‘Voute Kamer’, with 2 single beds . Both rooms have space for a child’s travel cot which is available free of charge if booked in advance (inflatable beds for young children can also be arranged upon request).

The two rooms share a spacious bathroom with bath, shower and double wash basin. Towels are provided.

Breakfast is served in the communal breakfast room. Breakfast consists of a wide choice of mostly organic produce including homemade bread and jams and fresh eggs. The selection changes on a daily basis, so those planning to stay several days will get the chance to taste the full range of offerings.

Prices / facilities / activities

Parking is available in the grounds. The gate is locked at night, but guests are provided with a key to be able to come and go as they please.

Guests are welcome to enjoy our garden, including garden table and chairs (your children are also welcome to share the climing frame, swing and sandpit with our own children).

Chicken and sheep share the meadow behind the house (the lambs are known to frolic on occasions, but no guarantees can be made!).

Bicycles can be rented (please book ahead).

We are conveniently situated less than 7km (4miles) from the centre of Bruges (public transport is 300m from the door) and 20 km (12 miles) from the coast. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes in the area. (maps are available). The village (staggerring distance) offers opportunities for food and drink (the local beers are definitely worth a try). We can reserve a table for you if you wish (particularly recommended at weekends). Organic mini-bar and wifi are available! 

Prices (inclusive of breakfast)

Large room: €70 / night for two people, + €25 per night for a third person.

‘Voute’ room: €60 / night for two people, or €40 per night for single occupancy

If you stay only one night, we have to ask 5 € each person more.

The gypsy caravan.

The gypsy caravan dates back to 1953 and has a great history including being the home of carnival people.

It has now been restored. It includes a separate bedroom and small kitchen. You only need to take very little for your stay in our gypsy caravan. We provide: pre-made beds, cooking facilities, electricity, dinner ware, cutlery and a warm and cozy decoration. You have your own terrace and private yard with a picnic table. Of course you can use our large yard with toys and sandbox and in case of nice weather, a pool.

Next to the gypsy caravan is a barn with your private bathroom facilities including sink, shower and waterless toilet.

The gypsy caravan accomodates two to four people. For extra people, a tent can be added (at a max of 2 people at 7.5 euro/night). In the separate bedroom there is a large bed (1m60 by 2m) available, a second bed can be made of the table and benches (1m48 by 2m). We provide pillows, duvets and sheets.

The gypsy caravan can be rented for a weekend (Friday 15.00 til Monday 12.00) at 180€, for a midweek (Monday 15.00 til Friday 12.00) at 240€ or for a week (Friday 15.00 to Friday 12.00) at 360€ (one night free!). This does not include a mandatory fee of 15€ for cleaning expenses.

If desired, you can order an organic basket (no breakfast will be served) with home-made bread, home-made jam, cheese, butter, coffee or tea, milk, yoghurt. This is of course all organic. If you book the gypsy caravan, you will receive a sheet where you can tick off what you want.

Bike rental (including child seat, ride-on, children’s bikes) and maps with bicycle routes or walking routes are available.
